19 Feb Marketing workshop season is here…..
It was great fun heading up to Derby last week to meet the students on the NABMA Diploma in Markets Administration course where I was talking all about my favourite subject for the day…..
Why do markets need to be marketed? Surely people know they are there. With more markets in the country than there are Aldi and Morrisons combined, aren’t they such a national institution that people know where to find them?
Well no. The answer couldn’t be further from the truth and it is a vital part of a Market Managers job to know how to promote and sell the market. Just as much as it is each and every small business that makes their money there.
If you started up a business on the high street, your landlords not going to do your marketing for you but the joy of starting out on markets, is you do get a lot of free marketing done for you. That doesn’t mean that you can then divest all responsibility because once the punters are through the door, it is the job of each and every trader on the floor to entice people to their stall.
Which is why I’m delighted to have been asked to deliver the course to traders in Hammersmith and Fulham, Portobello, Leeds and Wellington already this year.
If you fancy a workshop session #downthemarket to get your sales up and to find out more about Marketti…just give me a shout. You know where I am.
